We all have VLC Media Player on our smart phones as well as on pur laptops and desktop machines.
We all love this media player as it not only allows us to play videos and media from various sources but also functions as a great video editing software.
One main step in the edition of any audio/video file is to cut it into shorter ones. You sometimes would like to cut a longer video into a shorter one or cut into even smaller video clips.
Though not a very advanced editing software,VLC definitely helps you to cut short your videos.
Step 1: Open VLC media player on your device or machine. On the toolbar on the top of the screen you will see a tab called ‘View’.
Step 2: Go to ‘View’ and then go to ‘Advanced Controls’.
Step 3: Once you click select this option, you will see additional tools at the top of your original control bar at the bottom of your screen.
Step 4: Now select and open the video file you would like to trim.Move the seek bar to the point from where you want to start the trimmed video.
Step 5: Once the seek bar is set, press the red circle ‘Record’ button. Then play the video and then when you arrive to the end point till where you want to shorten the video again press the ‘Record’ button.
Step 6: For better accuracy you can play the video ‘Frame by Frame’ so that you capture the right moment.
The last button in the advanced controls is the ‘Frame by Frame’ button.
Step 7: Now look for the saved file in the ‘My Videos’ folder in the Windows folder.
For Windows 7 users, you will find the video in the folder C:\Users\Username\Videos.
So,here you are with your neatly trimmed video!
Hope these steps were of great help to you all and helped you get the output as a super-neat trimmed video.
Go on,try all these steps if you haven’t already!
